API Integrations Without Breaking Existing Systems

A practical webinar on connecting business systems through APIs without downtime, data loss, or fragile dependencies that break on every update.

What This Covers

Connecting systems sounds straightforward until you try it with platforms your business depends on daily. The payment processor that handles live transactions. The CRM that your sales team lives in. The accounting system that feeds your monthly reporting. These systems cannot go down while you wire them together, and a bad integration does not just fail — it corrupts data, breaks workflows, and creates problems that take longer to fix than the integration took to build.

This session covers how to approach integrations properly: planning data flows before writing any code, handling failures gracefully so one system going down does not cascade across your entire operation, and building connections that survive platform updates without manual intervention. We draw on integrations we have built across Stripe, Xero, HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Workspace, and dozens of other platforms — and the lessons we learned from the integrations that were harder than they should have been because the planning was skipped.

The session is practical, not theoretical. We cover real integration architectures, common failure patterns, and the decisions that determine whether an integration is a reliable piece of infrastructure or a constant source of operational anxiety.

Who Should Attend

Operations managers, technical leads, and business owners who manage multiple platforms that need to share data — and who have either been burned by a bad integration before or want to avoid that experience. This is particularly relevant if you are currently relying on manual data entry between systems, spreadsheet exports, or Zapier-style connectors that are starting to show their limits. Some technical context is helpful but not required — we explain the architectural concepts in business terms.

What You Will Learn

  • How to map data flows between systems before building anything, so you understand exactly what data moves where and what happens when something fails
  • The difference between synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns, and when each is appropriate for different business scenarios
  • How to handle API rate limits, downtime, and version changes without your integration breaking every time a vendor pushes an update
  • When a middleware layer or queue system is worth the added complexity, and when a direct connection is simpler and more reliable
  • How to evaluate whether an integration should be custom-built, handled by an iPaaS platform, or solved by changing your process instead

Format

A 60-minute live webinar with 15 minutes of structured Q&A. The session includes architecture diagrams for common integration patterns that attendees can reference when planning their own projects. Available on demand after the live session.
