Overview
Beacon Bits provides monitoring for standalone processes that would otherwise be invisible. Scheduled tasks, background scripts, data pipelines, and automated jobs — the processes that run unattended and only get attention when they fail. Bits makes them visible before failure becomes the discovery mechanism.
Every Bit is a lightweight agent that reports into the Beacon ecosystem. It sends heartbeats, logs events, and raises alerts when something deviates from expected behaviour. The monitoring data flows into Pulse (mobile) and Workbench (desktop), giving you visibility from any device.
Bits costs £25 per month plus a one-time setup fee per applet, or is included in the All Products Pack at £50 per month. Retainer clients receive the All Products Pack at no additional cost.

Standalone Process Monitoring

Process Visibility
A centralised view of all monitored processes — their status, last heartbeat, alert history, and performance trends. See Process Visibility for the monitoring dashboard and reporting capabilities.
Alert Routing
When a process misses a heartbeat or reports an error, alerts are routed through the Beacon notification system — email, SMS, push notifications via Pulse, and in-app alerts. Configuration determines who gets notified and how urgently.
Cross-Product Access
Bits monitoring data is accessible in Beacon Pulse (mobile quick checks) and Beacon Workbench (full monitoring dashboard). Users with only a Bits subscription can access the Bits monitoring screens in those apps.
