Research Workflows

Multi-step research tasks that build on page context -- compare, extract, and compile information without leaving your browser.

What Research Workflows Does

Research Workflows takes Beacon Lens beyond single-page assistance into multi-step research tasks that build context as you browse. Instead of manually collecting information from multiple sources and synthesising it later, Lens accumulates context across pages and helps you structure findings as you go.

The outcome is research that happens in the flow of browsing, not as a separate project that starts after you have finished reading.

Who It Is For

Research Workflows is for anyone who regularly needs to gather, compare, and synthesise information from multiple web sources. Content strategists researching competitors, sales teams evaluating prospects, developers comparing technical approaches, and business owners investigating solutions all benefit from research that is structured as it happens rather than assembled after the fact.

How It Works

When you activate a research workflow, Lens begins tracking context across the pages you visit. As you browse from page to page, Lens builds a growing understanding of what you are looking at and what you are trying to learn.

You can ask comparative questions that reference multiple pages: “How does this approach compare to what I read on the previous site?” or “Which of these three tools handles pricing differently?” Lens draws on the accumulated context to provide answers that a single-page query could not.

Structured extraction lets you pull specific data points from multiple pages into a consistent format. If you are comparing five competitors on pricing, features, and target market, Lens can extract those attributes from each page and present them side by side.

Research notes are compiled within the extension, so you do not need to maintain a separate document while browsing. When you are done, the compiled research can be exported or used directly.

Each workflow is temporary and session-based. Context is not stored permanently — it exists for the duration of your research session and is discarded when you close the workflow. This keeps the tool lightweight and avoids accumulating stale data.
