What This Integration Does

This integration writes PandaDoc document activity and engagement detail onto Salesforce Opportunities and Accounts. Beyond signature events, this integration captures the section-level engagement PandaDoc tracks (how long the recipient spent on each page, which fields they edited, what comments they left) and turns it into actionable Salesforce fields and tasks.

For Salesforce-driven sales orgs that picked PandaDoc precisely for its engagement insight, this is the integration that puts that insight where the AE actually works.

The Workflow

When an AE sends a PandaDoc document from a Salesforce Opportunity, the integration captures the Opportunity ID in document metadata and tracks the full lifecycle. Each engagement event (open, section view, field completion, comment, signature, decline) updates a custom Document object linked to the Opportunity, with the engagement detail recorded against each event.

A specific chain: an enterprise sales team sends a Master Services Agreement worth £180,000 spread across multiple statements of work. The integration tracks the document being opened by three different recipients (procurement, legal, the economic buyer), each spending different time on different sections: procurement focused on payment terms, legal on liability clauses, and the economic buyer on outcomes. The AE sees this engagement breakdown on the Opportunity as a structured summary, with a “Concerns” field flagging the long time spent on the liability clause and a Task created for the AE to proactively address it before the next call. When legal leaves a comment requesting a change, the Task updates with the comment text. When the document signs, the Opportunity moves to Closed Won, the Contract object is populated with the negotiated terms, and the signed PDF is attached to the Account.

Multi-signer routing is handled cleanly. The integration tracks which signer is currently up, posts reminders to the AE when a signer has stalled for longer than configured thresholds, and flags risk on the Opportunity if any single signer takes longer than the historical average for that signer role.

Before and After

Before, the team uses PandaDoc for proposals and the AE watches the PandaDoc dashboard for signals, then manually updates Salesforce when something material happens. The richness of PandaDoc engagement data is largely invisible to anyone who does not personally log in to check.

After, the engagement data lives on the Salesforce Opportunity. The AE sees what the procurement team cared about and what the legal team flagged before the next call. Tasks fire automatically on stalled signers. Contracts populate themselves on close.

Who Needs This

Mid-market and enterprise B2B sales orgs running Salesforce with structured proposal processes through PandaDoc. This is common in SaaS, fintech, professional services, and consulting, where deals involve multiple stakeholders and proposal engagement detail informs follow-up strategy.

How We Build This

We build this against the PandaDoc API and the Salesforce REST API. PandaDoc webhooks deliver document and recipient events; the integration matches documents to Opportunities via metadata, structures engagement data into Salesforce custom objects, fires automated Tasks on configured triggers, and populates Contracts on close. See Salesforce API Integration for the Salesforce capabilities involved.

Get PandaDoc and Salesforce Connected

If PandaDoc is your proposal platform and Salesforce is your pipeline of record, we can build a custom integration that gets the full engagement lifecycle onto the Opportunity. If your pipeline is in HubSpot rather than Salesforce, see Connect PandaDoc to HubSpot. For teams using DocuSign as the signature tool instead of PandaDoc, Connect DocuSign to Salesforce handles that integration. Both are part of our Integrations Overview.
