Free Tools

Free browser-based tools for design, development, and SEO work. No sign-up, no uploads. The same utilities we use across our own client engagements.

The Utilities We Reach For Daily, Now Yours to Use

Most free tool sites are content farms: thirty thin utilities behind ads and a sign-up wall. The tools here are different. They’re organised into focused suites, each one a small, fast, browser-only application. Nothing uploads. Nothing tracks. They are the same utilities we have built into our own engineering and design work over years, packaged so anyone can use them.

We have published them for two reasons. The first is practical: engineers and designers spend more time than they should hopping between random utility sites of varying quality and questionable privacy posture. Pulling the most-used ones into one place, holding them to the same standard as the products we ship, is a small but real public good. The second is more straightforward: these tools demonstrate the calibre of what we build. A hand-rolled regex tester, a working colour palette generator, a real WCAG contrast checker. These things give you a practical preview of how we think about UX, performance, and edge cases. If you like how the free tools feel, the paid Beacon products and the systems we build for clients carry the same standards into much bigger problems.

Each suite is a single application: pick a tool, the suite shell loads it, and you can switch between related tools without leaving the page. There are no usage limits, no ad rolls, no upgrade prompts. The tools that handle files do so entirely in your browser. We made specific decisions about that; uploaded fixtures, JWTs, and source images do not need to leave your machine to be processed, and we are not interested in being a data custodian for content that should never have left.

What We Cover

The tools are grouped into suites by discipline. Each suite is its own dedicated application with shared navigation between its tools: start anywhere, switch anywhere, no page reloads.

  • Design Suite: colour, typography, image, and CSS utilities for everyday design work. Contrast checking, palette generation, image cropping and conversion, gradient and shadow builders, favicon and QR code generation. Twenty tools that cover the day-to-day work most designers spend twenty different tabs on.
  • Developer Suite: the utilities engineers open during a normal day. JSON formatting, regex testing, JWT decoding, hash generation, timestamp conversion, text diffing, UUID generation, SQL formatting, plus a complete icon-set generator for shipping cross-platform apps.
  • SEO Suite: page audits, schema markup generation, robots and sitemap tools, redirect chain tracing, SSL inspection, structured-data validation, and an AEO content scorer for AI search visibility. Thirty tools spanning audit, generation, and analysis, the broadest of the three suites.
  • Paid Search Suite: Google Ads tools: RSA headline and description tester, Quality Score estimator, ad-copy compliance checker, ROAS and budget calculators, UTM builder, A/B significance, negative-keyword list builder. Twelve tools covering the day-to-day work of running search campaigns.
  • Email Marketing Suite: inbox reachability checker, subject line tester, deliverability diagnostic, email list cleaner, MPP-adjusted open rate calculator, bounce rate maths, plain-text generator, one-click unsubscribe link, personalisation token tester. Ten tools covering the workflow of sending email that lands in the inbox.

More marketing-channel suites will follow.

How These Tools Connect to Our Work

The tools here are the lightweight, public face of capabilities we apply at much larger scale in client work. A free contrast checker is a single-pair test; the WP Beacon Plugin audits an entire WordPress site for contrast failures across every page on every visit. A free colour palette generator is a one-shot utility; the same logic, woven into a real design system, becomes part of the brand consistency work that lives in our services. The free utilities are deliberately bounded: they answer one question well. The paid products and the engagements answer the same questions at the scale a real business needs.

If a free tool surfaces a result that suggests a deeper problem (accessibility failures across the site, a typography system that has drifted, an icon inventory that is slowly going out of date) the relevant page in Software or Services is the next stop.

Where to Start

If you are a designer, the Design Suite is the right starting point: pick whichever tool maps to the question you have right now. If you are an engineer, the Developer Suite covers the most-asked questions in a normal working day. If you are running an SEO audit, building schema markup, or generating sitemap and robots files, the SEO Suite is the deepest of the three. Every individual tool page explains when to use it: read the situations, find the one that matches yours.

If you want a sense of how these tools tie into a larger ecosystem, the Beacon overview is the page that explains how the same capabilities deepen when run at scale across a whole product or site. For tools by topic across all suites, the Knowledge Center covers the underlying concepts.

Got a Tool You Wish Existed?

We add to the suites regularly. If there is a utility you reach for repeatedly that does not exist here yet, tell us: if it is broadly useful and we can ship it client-side, it stands a good chance of appearing in the next iteration.
