Web Design in Portsmouth

Web design in Portsmouth from a PO6 company: a small-business website for £499, then £59 a month for hosting, updates and support. Rated 5.0 on Google.

Digital Royalty is a Portsmouth company, registered at 63 Leominster Road in PO6, and we build small-business websites for £499, then host and look after them for £59 a month.

That price is well below what most local studios charge. When we looked at the Portsmouth web-design results in September 2026, the studios that rank and publish their prices quoted from about £1,200 to £4,500 for a build, with support plans on top. We can charge less because of how we build. Each site is produced through an AI-automated build process that our team runs and checks, and then we host it, secure it and keep it updated. That process replaces most of the hours a hand-built site takes, and the saving goes into the price.

What £499 and £59 a Month Covers

The build covers a site of up to 15 pages, designed around your business, laid out for phones first, with on-page SEO basics in place and your enquiry forms working. The monthly plan covers hosting, SSL, security and software updates, backups, content changes when you need them, and support from the team that built it.

The monthly plan runs on a 24-month agreement, and that commitment is what makes the price possible. If you leave early, the remaining months are payable, and you keep your site files and the latest backup either way.

The full details, and the option to start straight away, are on our small-business website page.

What We’ve Learned From Portsmouth’s Own Search Results

We track the Portsmouth web-design searches for our own business, and the results say something useful to any local firm trying to be found.

Reviews aren’t the main barrier to the map results. In September 2026, the business with the fewest reviews in the Google map results for Portsmouth web-design searches had five. What decides who appears is mostly relevance and proximity: the primary category on your Google Business Profile, whether your website clearly says what you do and where, and how close you are to the person searching. For most small businesses, a website that plainly states the service and the area does more than chasing another ten reviews.

Portsmouth’s geography matters. Most of the city sits on Portsea Island, and customers searching from Gosport, Fareham, Havant or Waterlooville often get shown businesses near them rather than across the water. If you serve those areas, your site needs to say so, and a separate page for a town is only worth having when you do real work there and can say something specific about it. A page that only swaps in a different town name tells the reader nothing new, so we don’t build them that way.

Most local searching happens on a phone. Someone in Southsea looking for a plumber, a dog groomer or an accountant wants a phone number, an area and a price range within seconds. We lay every site out with that visitor in mind.

Who This Suits

Sole traders and small firms across Portsmouth and the surrounding area who need a proper website that brings in enquiries and don’t want to manage hosting or updates themselves. It suits a business opening for the first time as well as one replacing a site that’s slow or out of date. One of our Google reviewers, setting up a site for a new bar, wrote that Alex “found a way to explain the ins and outs in basic language”, and that’s the tone we aim for with every client.

It won’t suit you if you want to design and edit everything yourself on a website builder. Our comparison of a professional website vs DIY sets out that choice. It also isn’t the right product for online shops or booking systems, which we quote separately.

Bigger Than a Website?

The same team builds internal systems, integrations and software for larger Portsmouth operators, from the multi-tenant offices at Lakeside North Harbour to firms in the naval-base supply chain. That side of the business is on our software development in Portsmouth page, and the other places we work are listed on our locations overview.
