How It Works
WordPress Version
WP Beacon requires WordPress 6.0 or later. The plugin is tested against the latest stable WordPress release and the two preceding major versions. Running an older version is not supported and may cause compatibility issues.
PHP Version
The plugin requires PHP 8.1 or later. This aligns with WordPress’s own recommended PHP version. If your host runs an older PHP version, you will need to upgrade before installing.
Server Requirements
WP Beacon makes outbound API calls to Digital Royalty’s backend services for AI-powered features. Your server must allow outbound HTTPS connections. Firewalls or security plugins that block outbound requests may need configuration adjustments.
The plugin does not require unusual server resources beyond what a standard WordPress installation needs. There are no special database requirements, no additional server software dependencies, and no cron job configuration needed beyond WordPress’s built-in scheduling.
Hosting Compatibility
WP Beacon works on shared hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, and managed WordPress hosting platforms. It has been tested on major hosting providers including CloudWays, WP Engine, SiteGround, and standard cPanel environments.
Plugin Compatibility
WP Beacon is designed to coexist with other plugins. It does not modify core WordPress files, does not override standard hooks in a way that conflicts with common plugins, and uses namespaced code to avoid function name collisions. Data and Privacy
All AI processing happens on Digital Royalty’s servers via API. Site data sent for analysis includes page content, metadata, and structural information — never user data, login credentials, or personal information.
