01 Step 01
Step 01
Activate your existing relationships and book
A new adviser’s first clients almost always come from people who already trust them, the fastest, warmest route to revenue.
Do it yourself
- List everyone in your existing network who might need advice or knows someone who does, including any client relationships you can bring across, subject to your prior obligations and your network’s rules.
- Segment them by your niche and by likely trigger events.
- Reach out personally and human-first, since you are offering to help, not selling.
- Track every conversation in your CRM.
Common mistake · Assuming people already know what you do now. They don’t. You have to tell them clearly and specifically.

02 Step 02
Step 02
Build referral partnerships with accountants and solicitors
Accountants and solicitors sit on exactly the trigger events that create an advice need, and can become a durable, high-quality referral engine.
Do it yourself
- Identify local accountants and solicitors whose clients match your niche.
- Approach them with a clear, mutual value proposition: you help their clients with the things they do not do.
- Agree how referrals will work and how you will keep each other informed, within compliance and data rules.
- Nurture the relationships consistently rather than one-and-done.
Common mistake · A vague "send me referrals" ask, with no specificity about who you help or what is in it for them or their clients.

Step 03
Run the trust-led first conversation
Advice is a trust sale, so your first-meeting job is to build confidence and understand the person, not to pitch products.
Do it yourself
- Structure the meeting around listening: their situation, goals and concerns.
- Explain clearly who you are, your status, and how you charge: this is your initial disclosure, and a regulated requirement.
- Be honest about what you can and cannot help with, which reinforces trust and Consumer Duty.
- Agree clear next steps into the advice process.
Common mistake · Jumping to solutions before understanding the client. It reads as selling and breaks trust.

Hand this stage to us
The trust, the relationships and the advice itself are yours, and that is the part clients pay a person for. What we can build is what puts warm enquiries in front of you: the website, the funnel, and the local presence that make a new adviser easy to find and easy to choose. When you would rather that ran without you having to drive it, talk to us.
