Custom Software for Liverpool Street and City Recruitment Agencies

Custom software and integrations for Liverpool Street and City recruitment agencies — connect Bullhorn or Vincere to your back office and bill faster.

In recruitment, the edge that compounds is speed and cash flow, not headcount. A City desk that turns a placement into a clean invoice quickly, and frees its consultants to place rather than reconcile, collects sooner and bills more than the agency across the street still assembling its numbers by hand at month-end. Liverpool Street and Bishopsgate form one of the densest bands of staffing firms in the country: Reed works City briefs from Copenhagen House at 5-10 Bury Street, directly opposite the Gherkin. That advantage is won or lost in the place-to-bill cycle, and the place-to-bill cycle is where the platform an agency bought stops doing the work.

The Platform Handles the Front Office. The Money Leaks Behind It.

A City desk is almost never starting from a blank page. Most run Bullhorn (the category leader, used by more than 10,000 agencies and around 80 per cent of the world’s largest recruiters) or Access Vincere Evo, with faster-growing desks on JobAdder, Crelate or Recruiterflow. These handle the front office well: sourcing, submissions, the candidate pipeline. We would never tell a director who has just rolled Bullhorn out across forty consultants to replace it.

The leak is in the middle office: the timesheets, pay-and-bill and expenses that sit between front-office recruiting and back-office payroll and invoicing. That is where the cash either flows or stalls, and where the bought platform was never meant to reach:

  • Timesheets, pay-and-bill and invoicing get rekeyed by hand between the ATS and the accounting system, because the two were never properly connected.
  • Bullhorn-to-Xero (or Sage) is usually stitched together with Zapier, ETZ or a third-party connector. Those bridges lag, break or drop data without warning.
  • High-volume contract and temp billing multiplies every error across many placements: different formats, markups, POs and terms, all needing to be right each cycle, all slowing cash when they are not.
  • Directors cannot see live numbers without someone building a report by hand: placements, margin, fall-throughs, consultant performance, all assembled manually.

Tools like Timesheet Portal and ETZ exist because this middle office is a distinct, painful layer; buying one is usually a sign a desk needs reliable bridging to the ATS and the accounts, not another disconnected system.

Closing the Cycle So You Collect Sooner

The work that turns the cycle into an advantage is recurring, not one-off:

  • Custom integrations around the platform you run: a reliable connection between Bullhorn or Vincere and Xero or Sage that moves timesheet, pay-and-bill and invoicing data once, instead of limping through a brittle connector. This is our core API integration work.
  • Automated timesheet-to-invoice flows for high-volume contract and temp desks, so many placements bill cleanly without a person checking each one.
  • Branded client and candidate portals built on the platform’s API, where clients post roles and review submissions and candidates self-serve, replacing the scattered PDF-and-email back-and-forth.
  • Placement and margin dashboards that put live placements, margin, fall-throughs and consultant performance in one view, so leadership stops waiting on month-end.

The return is concrete: a consultant who spends the morning placing instead of reconciling timesheets, and cash that used to wait on a manual billing run landing sooner. This is the custom software development we run most often for operational firms with no engineers of their own. Recruitment is a market we know well, having generated meetings from agencies with exactly this profile.

Working near Liverpool Street?

If your consultants are placing well but the place-to-bill cycle is leaking (timesheets rekeyed, Bullhorn and Xero held together with tape, directors waiting on a hand-built report), that is the gap between you and the desk that bills faster. Tell us where the cycle is breaking and we will talk through the first integration that would free the most cash. Recruitment around Liverpool Street is one strand of our London work.
