Step 01
Plan a site that sells advisory
Advisory sites convert on trust and clarity, so the structure matters more than the tech.
Do it yourself
- Plan the core pages: home, services, about, insights, and contact/book.
- Give each page one job and a single call to action.
- Write in your clients’ own words, from your validation conversations.
- Add the compliance basics: a privacy notice link and a subtle scope note where it fits.
Common mistake · A beautiful but vague site that never says who it is for or what to do next.

Step 02
Write the core pages
Words do the selling, and a new adviser’s site lives or dies on the home and services copy.
Do it yourself
- Home: lead with the client’s problem and your one-line outcome, then proof, then the call to action.
- Services: present packages built around outcomes, not hours, with the diagnostic as the way in.
- About: experience, credibility and a photo, connecting you to their problem.
- Keep it scannable, benefit-led and honest, with no invented stats or regulated claims.
Common mistake · Writing about yourself ("I have twenty years’ experience in...") instead of about the client’s problem and outcome.

Step 03
Build and launch
You need a live, professional, fast site, not a perfect one.
Do it yourself
- Choose a platform matched to your skills (Squarespace/Wix for speed, WordPress for control).
- Point your domain and set up branded email on it, never a Gmail for a practice.
- Make it mobile-first and fast, and add analytics and a cookie/consent notice.
- Launch at "good enough" and improve from there.
Common mistake · Spending months perfecting the site, and hiding in it, instead of launching and talking to referrers.

Step 04
Add trust and conversion elements
Advisory buyers need reassurance before they enquire, and the trust layer turns a visitor into a call.
Do it yourself
- Add a booking link and a simple contact form, routed so nothing is missed.
- Add testimonials and logos you have permission to use, your credentials, and your headshot.
- Put up an insights post or two so the site does not look empty.
- Give it an honest footer: company details, privacy notice, and any scope note.
Common mistake · No obvious next step, so a convinced visitor cannot easily book or enquire.

Hand this stage to us
A credible advisory website is exactly the kind of thing we build. We can put your site together on a fast, simple platform, write it around your client’s problem rather than your CV, and wire up the booking and enquiry path so nothing is missed. If you would rather have it built than build it yourself, talk to us.
